• Timeline – Price and availability of construction materials can vary due to supply-and-demand. Please keep in mind that factors outside your/our control may affect timelines whether you’re remodeling or custom building. From permitting to final walkthrough, a custom build can take nine to 12 months. Will you stay in your current house while your new home is being built or sell early and temporarily relocate? 

• Trust – We recommend research: company reviews, builder/contractor interviews, visiting showrooms and model homes. Choose a team who is licensed, insured, and has a track record of reliability and transparency. You’re trusting them with your dream home!

• Vision – Make a list of your family’s non-negotiable needs and wants in a new home. Things like privacy and safety, schools, sustainability, storage and outdoor space—every client’s list is unique. Create a vision or mood board. Collect color swatches, appliance reviews, and a list of unique amenities—smart technologies throughout, a beverage station in the rec room or kitchen, a spa bathroom.
